
Simple Botanical Microscope with Ivory Handle.
English, mid 19th century, unsigned. Made of polished lacquered brass with a turned ivory handle.
5" long overall, with a small hole in the middle for the combination specimen forceps and bug
spike. The microscope is in good display condition; it is still usable, except for a small chip
in the lens. The original case is quite worn and missing its top.
Dissecting Kit in Wooden Box
Kit comes in a black ebonized box with no makers mark. There are 8 tools in all, 2 probes, 4 different
scalpels, a pair of scissors, large tweezers. Box measures 6 3/8" long by 2 1/2" wide, by 1 1/8"
deep. Used but in excellent condition.
Museum Specimen Glass Cover Domes
A set of six blown glass domes that were used in a museum to cover specimens in the 1890's. They
are 7" high and 5 1/2" total diameter. They still have the original labels. The two pictured
happened to display Bauxite. One says "from Ireland, Best picked sample". Date on label says 1891.
