
Early Bell Jar with Base.
This is a beautifully preserved bell jar
from the early 1900's. It stands 12" high and has a 7" diameter cast iron
base. The glass has a slight purple tint. The base is in good condition with
no deformation of the surface. The bell jar weighs 8.5 lbs. and the base is
6.5 lbs. There are no chips, cracks, or abrasions. No identifying maker's
mark.
English Pocket Spectroscope by John Browning.
A fine old pocket direct vision spectroscope by John Browning 37 Southhampton Street London W.C.
in original fitted case. In good condition with some worn spots to the original lacquer. The case
is also in good condition with some worn spots as shown in picture.
Brass Blow Pipe.
This blow pipe is solid brass and has a removable cap covering the wick. A rubber tube would be
attached to the brass tube on the side to direct the airflow over the wick and concentrate the
heat on the object being heated. It is in excellent condition with no dents or defects.
Brass Alcohol Torch.
Probably from the 1920's. Has a wick and the cotton batten. No maker's mark. Good condition.
Laboratory Bottle for Weighing gases.
This came from a university laboratory and is used for weighing gases. It has a brass cap with
a valve that is in good working order. This still has the university label on the side.
